The ‘dance version’ of Das Wohlpreparierte Klavier I (2009). A series of relatively easy, ring-modulated pieces for piano, playable by advanced amateurs with a good sense of rhythm. In contrast to WPK I, the ring-modulated sound is separated from the actual piano sound by a short delay, creating a groove-like pulse. The quasi-tonal approach in combination with the ‘untempered’ ring modulation creates a vibrating, energetic texture that invites sonic exploration and improvisation.
