Music in Socio-Cultural Turmoil

I had a great time at the conference Music in Socio-Cultural Turmoil, in Belgrade, where I gave a keynote on political engagement and the responsibility of musicians in contexts of conflict. At a place where students have been protesting for exactly one year against official corruption, where teachers and professors supporting the protests saw their salaries cut, and in a general climate of blackmail and arbitrary arrests, the choice of the conference’s theme was a meaningful and courageous one. Conference proceedings, including my keynote paper, will be published in the autumn of 2026.
